A Note From Our Founder

OOPY was born out of my personal pain, passion, and purpose.

After experiencing hair loss—twice—and battling eczema, allergic reactions, and chronic health issues linked to toxic beauty products, I knew something had to change. As a licensed cosmetologist, esthetician, certified makeup artist, and former beauty advertising executive, I had seen both sides of the industry. I knew how powerful beauty could be—but I also knew how harmful it had become, especially for women who looked like me.

I created OOPY not as just another beauty brand, but as a call to action—to demand better, safer, cleaner, and more intentional solutions for women of color. OOPY is Black-owned, but it’s not a "Black product." It’s a family of clean beauty brands made for all people, but rooted in giving Black women the seat at the beauty table we’ve always deserved—without having to sacrifice our health to sit there.
